Elizabeth "Betty" Appleby February 23, 1926 - August 4, 2009 Elizabeth "Betty" Appleby, 83, of Pasadena, passed away on Tuesday, August 4, 2009. Betty was born on February 23, 1926 in Vidalia, LA to Joseph J. and Nina M Ragland. Survivors include her sons, James Appleby and wife, Marilyn, and Gordon Appleby, five grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, along with numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, James C. Appleby in 1989, her parents and her sister, Norma Ragland Denton.
