Elias "Eli" Garcia III's Obituary
Elias “Eli” Garcia III entered the loving arms of Jesus on March 12, 2020. He passed peacefully surrounded by family. He was born on June 19, 1945 to Eufemia and Elias Garcia, Jr. in Los Indios, Texas.
A graduate of Pearland High School, Eli proudly entered in to the United States Air Force in 1965. After serving in Air Force, in 1975, Eli began his lifetime career as a barber, opening the first Eli’s Barbershop in 1976 in North Shore, Texas. He loved being a barber and was well regarded by his long list of clients.
He enjoyed watching the Houston Astros, Houston Rockets and Houston Texans. He loved listening and dancing to country music.
In his last years, he enjoyed taking on the role of a Lead Ambassador at the Paradise Springs Independent Retirement Living Center. In his role, Eli would provide a warm welcome to new residents, show them around, join them for meals and encourage residents to participate in activities.
Eli never met a stranger and was well loved by everyone he met. He will be greatly missed.
Eli is survived by his children Stacey (Brian) Mullins, Lacie Myhre, Tammy (Travis) Steele, Justin Garcia and Kristina Garcia; nine grandchildren and five great grandchildren; siblings Guadalupe (Lettica) Garcia, Daniel (Diana) Garcia, Naomi (Augustine) Lopez and Norma Smith; and many nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by his son Gregory Scott Garcia, his brother Ector Garcia and parents Eufemia and Elias Garcia, Jr.
Donations in Eli’s memory can be made to the American Diabetes Association or American Heart Association.
