Edwin Dane Hutchinson's Obituary
Edwin Dane Hutchinson, 87, of Seabrook, Texas, passed away peacefully at home on November 9, 2025. He was born on March 5, 1938, in Crockett, Kentucky, to Carl and Plura Hutchinson.
Edwin proudly served his country as a Major in the United States Air Force for 20 years. During his military career, he worked on significant programs including the B-52 Modernization Program and the B-1 Bomber Development Program. He retired from the Air Force in 1978, and continued his distinguished career at Boeing, where he contributed to both the Boeing 777 and the NASA International Space Station programs until his retirement. He was recognized for his valuable efforts at Boeing receiving the prestigious President’s Award in 1987.
He graduated from Breckinridge Training School in Morehead, Kentucky. He continued his education receiving a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Arizona and a M.S. in Electrical Engineering from the Air Force Institute of Technology at Wright Patterson AFB, Ohio. Edwin was also an Eagle Scout and named a Kentucky Colonel by the Commonwealth of Kentucky.
Beyond his professional achievements, Edwin was an avid nature photographer with a particular passion for capturing the beauty of birds and flowers through his lens. His artistic eye and patience brought joy to many who viewed his work. He had numerous other hobbies throughout his life including gardening, rock and gem collecting, fly fishing, and woodworking.
Edwin was preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Plura Hutchinson; his first wife, Carolyn Smith Hutchinson; and his sister, Janis Crawford.
He is survived by his loving wife, Monette Falzon of Seabrook, Texas; his three children, Lynn Atzingen (Hal) of Bonita Springs, Florida , David Hutchinson of Florence, Kentucky, and Michael Hutchinson (Sandra) of Canton, Georgia; Grandchildren Amber Palinkas, Ashley Icerman, Jimmy Albert, Alyssa Albert, Jason Albert, Melissa Freimuth, Kelsey Immegart, Ryan Hutchinson, Nicholas Hutchinson, Sydney Hutchinson and Courtney Hutchinson and numerous great-grandchildren.
