Edward Keith Seman passed away peacefully on July 1, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family. He leaves behind a legacy defined by faith, service, music, hard work, and an unwavering love for his family.
Born on July 23, 1949, Edward lived a life marked by dedication, generosity, and a passion for bringing joy to others. He proudly served his country in the United States Army. During his military service, he was stationed in Okinawa, Japan, where he met the love of his life, Shige. Their meeting began a beautiful love story, and on October 20, 1972, they were married, beginning a lifelong partnership built on love, faith, and family. Together they built a home filled with music, laughter, and unwavering support for one another.
Music was woven into the fabric of Edward's life. A gifted guitarist, DJ, and entertainer, he spent decades sharing his passion with others. Whether playing guitar with his band, leading worship at church, DJing family gatherings, entertaining at corporate events, or providing music alongside his son Kevin for events at the Verne Cox Center, Edward had a remarkable ability to bring people together. His greatest reward wasn't the spotlight, it was seeing people smile, laugh, dance, and create lasting memories.
Edward was also a true entrepreneur. Throughout his life, he built businesses that reflected both his talents and his work ethic. From television and air-conditioning repair to founding and operating Acme DJ, he believed in earning an honest living while serving his community. Even after retiring from the City of League City, he wasn't ready to slow down. He continued operating Acme DJ, doing what he loved most by bringing music, joy, and unforgettable moments to people's lives.
Above all else, Edward was a devoted husband, a loving father, and a proud grandfather. He poured his heart into his family and found his greatest joy in watching them grow and succeed. His grandson, Blake, held a special place in his heart, and nothing brought him greater happiness than spending time with those he loved.
His influence extended far beyond his own accomplishments. He recognized and nurtured the dreams of his children, especially his son Bruce. He enrolled him in piano lessons, bought his first DJ setup, purchased his first synthesizer, and invited him on stage with his band to play saxophone for the very first time. Those moments became the foundation of a lifelong career in music. His encouragement, belief, and sacrifice became gifts that continue to echo through every stage, every studio session, and every song.
Edward will be remembered for his generosity, his humility, his infectious smile, and his servant's heart. He lived a life of purpose.. serving his country, his church, his family, and his community. His legacy lives on through the people he loved, the music he shared, and the lives he inspired.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Shige; his children, including Kevin, Bruce and Wife Michelle; his cherished grandson, Blake; extended family; lifelong friends; fellow musicians; and countless people whose lives were brighter because they knew him.
Though our hearts are heavy, we find peace knowing his melody continues to play in his family, in his faith, in the music he loved, and in the countless memories he leaves behind.
His song may have ended here on Earth, but his legacy will play on forever.
