Edward Paul Novak's Obituary
Edward Paul Novak, born on May 18, 1966, in Richmond, Texas, passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 28, 2025, in Houston, at the age of 59, after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer.
Known to many as Eddie, he lived a life grounded in integrity, simplicity, and love. He was a man of strong morals, strength, and fierce loyalty to those he loved. A skilled pipefitter and expert welder, Eddie had a gift for ingenuity — if something needed fixing, he could figure it out.
Eddie found peace in the outdoors and enjoyed sharing that love with others. Eddie loved to take his daughter, Vanessa, and his baby sister, Angie, on outdoor adventures, sharing his passion for the things he loved. You could find Eddie in the water with a fishing pole in one hand and a cold beer in the other.
He is survived by his loving partner, June; his cherished daughter, Vanessa; and his devoted mother, Marie. Eddie is also survived by his nine siblings: Frankie; David and his wife, Donna; Margaret and her husband, Eddie; Barbara and her husband, Ted; Kenny and his wife, Tina; Mary and her husband, Billy; James and his wife, Neome; Greg; and Angie and her husband, Kier. He was a beloved uncle to many nieces and nephews and leaves behind a large extended family who will miss him deeply.
Eddie was preceded in death by his father, Frank, and his sister, Agnes.
The family extends heartfelt thanks to Harbor Hospice for their compassionate care.
Services will be held on Wednesday, July 2, 2025, at Southpark Funeral Home. A rosary will begin at 1:00 p.m., followed by a memorial service at 2:00 p.m. A reception will follow at Southwest Machine Works, 60 Southbelt Industrial Drive, Houston, TX 77047.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the organization Teach a Child to Fish, honoring Eddie’s love of sharing the outdoors with the next generation.
