Edna Mae Milton's Obituary
Ms. Edna Mae Milton, resident of Santa Fe, Texas, went to be with the Lord on November 19, 2020. Edna was 81 years old. Edna is preceded in death by her mother, Edna Mae Greenfield, and daughter, Kathleen Waters. She is survived by her children, Susan LaFrage, Tina Johnson, James Allen Hayes, Jr., and her son-in-law, Rusty LaFrage, whom she loved like a son. She also had many beloved grandchildren and great grandchildren. Edna was born in Centerville, Illinois. She found the Lord when she was 8 years old, during the time that her mother was working a job cleaning the church. She loved sharing the story of how she would stand at the pulpit and pretend to be a pastor giving a sermon. As a child, Edna received The American Legion Award for leadership skills and model character in school. She moved to Texas in her 20’s, where she owned several rental properties, owned and operated a daycare, as well as a beauty parlor. Edna was always a hard worker, even well into her senior years. She had grit and determination, working several jobs, all while raising her four children. She always loved to garden and host people in her home. She especially loved children. She would even carry treats in her purse, just in case she would come across a mother trying to console a crying child in the supermarket. She loved going to church, sharing the Good News with others, and reading her Bible and devotionals. She was the person who would turn and talk with the person sitting next to her in the doctor’s waiting room and leave having prayed with them, gotten their phone number, and made a new friend. She touched so many people in her life, brought people to Christ, and truly devoted her life to The Lord. There is a new angel in Heaven as a Dear daughter is reunited with her loving Father.
