Mrs. Edmonia "Eddie" Hardy's Obituary
Edmonia “Eddie” Hardy, 90, passed away on Sunday, November 27, 2016. Eddie was born December 1, 1925 in Lafayette, LA. She was the youngest of 5 children. After graduating high school she attended Business College and then moved to Houston in the late 1940’s where she got married. She had three sons and one daughter. She was a stay at home mom until her youngest child started high school. She then went to work at Palais Royal and soon became a manager, where she continued to work for them for over thirty years, receiving numerous awards until she retired.
She is a devout Catholic and raised her family in the church where she taught them the love of God, and right from wrong. She raised her family to be honest, hardworking, respectful and kind to others. She had numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren who she really enjoyed visiting. She enjoyed decorating and always had her home looking beautiful at thanksgiving and during the Christmas Season, which was her favorite time of year.
She loved Gregory Peck movies, watching sunsets, reading, solving crossword puzzles and dancing. She loved all the cats and dogs she nurtured in her life. Her favorite song is “Memories”. She instilled the love of music and dance in all her children.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest “Mitch” Hardy and her sons, Michael H. Hardy and William Keith Hardy. She is survived by her son, Edward Craig Hardy and wife Carole; daughter, Monica Bailey and husband Cecil; grandchildren, Amy Hardy- Covey and husband John, Jason C. Hardy and wife Erin, Charles E. Hardy and wife Ayumi, Sarah E. Hardy and partner James Foster, Aaron Michelle Hardy and partner Michael Sheiman; sister-in-law, Linda Waters and husband Jimmy, 8 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces nephews and a host of friends. A rosary will commence at 11:00 AM on Saturday, December 3, 2016 at Southpark Funeral Home 1310 North Main St. Pearland, Texas 77581. The family will receive friends from 11:30 AM until 12:30 PM followed by a funeral service at 12:30 PM in the funeral home chapel. In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to The Alzheimer’s Association www.alz.org.
