Edgar Myers' Obituary
Edgar (Ed) Myers, son of the late William (Willie) Felix Myers and Gerline (Thomas) Myers, was born on November 6, 1948, at Jefferson Davis Hospital in Houston, Texas and passed away on August 14, 2023, in Pearland, Texas.
Ed graduated from Wheatley High School in 1967 and attended Houston Community College from 1973 - 1976. Although he initially dreamed of becoming a chef, Ed recognized his passion for construction in 1976 after working at Crosby Hardware. For the next 40 years, he worked as an apprentice, builder, general contractor, and housing inspector in Texas, Georgia, and Florida. Always striving to abide by ‘EM’s Code of Homebuilding Ethics’, he never hung up his hard hat, even in retirement.
Ed was baptized into Christ in January 1985 at Southside Church of Christ in Houston, Texas.
Ed is survived by daughter Ginger D. Myers (David Creech, Jr.) of Atlanta, Georgia; three sisters Willie Faye Myers and Joslyn Myers both of Houston, Texas and Betty Myers of Atlanta, Georgia; and several nephews and nieces.
Ed was preceded in death by his brothers Louis Myers and Jerome Myers; sisters Patsy Myers and Gwendolyn Myers.
Celebration of life will be held on Monday, August 28, 2023 at 1p.m. at South Park Funeral Home, 1310 N. Main Street, Pearland, Texas 77581.
