Edgar Bobby Jones' Obituary
Edgar Bobby Jones was born in Houston, Texas on July 28, 1934, to the late Edgar Jones and Martha Effie Ollre. Bobby entered Eternal Rest with our Lord and Savior at his home with his family in Pasadena on Wednesday, June 5, 2024, attaining the age of 89 years, 10 months, and 8 days.
A lifelong Houstonian, Bobby graduated from John H. Reagan High School in 1952, where he lettered in both football and track & field. After high school, he enlisted in the United States Army. Upon completion of his enlistment, Bobby worked for Schlumberger Technology Corporation, where he met his bride. He then worked for and retired from I.B.M., after a lengthy career in the office imaging technology industry. His life consisted of many qualities; he was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers William Jones and James Jones, half-sister Mary Lu Jones Anglin, and grandson Kyle Keagle.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 65 years, Lou Nell McLendon Jones, their daughter Lou Ann Jones Rice of Pasadena, son Edgar Bobby Jones (Margy), grand-daughter Kristina Lewis Hardin (David) of Austin, grand-son Charles Kinzbach of Houston, grand-daughter Julia Jones, of Houston, great-granddaughters Josie and Bristol Hardin of Austin, half-sister Charlotte Jones Glenn (Ron) of Pearland, half-sister Patricia Jones Reimann of Houston, as well as countless cousins, nieces, nephews, other extended family members, and many friends.
