Eddie Lee Mays, Sr passed away May 4, 2023 at the age of 88. He was born January 4, 1935 in Thrall, Texas. He was a loved father, brother, uncle, grandfather, and great grandfather. He is preceded in death by his father Rainey Mays, his mother Dora Mays, brothers A.C. Mays (Buddy), Willie Mays, James Mays(Tossie), Ollie Mays, Earl Mays, sister Nobie Nell Johnson, and his daughters Paulette Austin and Marjorie Nell Mays.
Eddie Sr was a licensed master mechanic for many years for Williams Brothers. Then he opened his own business Eddie’s Automotive which he ran until his retirement. He was a cowboy at heart who loved horses.
Eddie Sr is survived by his children Eddie Lee Mays Jr, Bridgette Mays, and Pamela Fredericks, his siblings Dan Mays, Roy Mays, L.D. Mays, Rainey Mays Jr, Jackie Wilson, and Kenneth Mays, grandchildren Christopher Mays Sr, Ashley Fredericks, Taylor Turner, Ronald Smith, Gerald Hester, Deja Carriere, and Darrick Carriere II, his great grandchildren Christopher Mays Jr and Christian Mays and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
