Douglas Alan Loft 1953-2014
Douglas Alan Loftin was born May 4, 1953 and passed surrounded by family on December 18, 2014.
At the age of 12 he received his license for amateur radio and at 16 he worked weekends for KTRH Houston as an engineer. He graduated from San Rayborn High School. After high school he attended San Jacinto College and became interested in flying and decided to get his license in Commercial Multi Engine Instrument. He copiloted for Boe, a long time buddy of his, and traveled around the world. Doug worked for Shell pipeline and later at Able Communications where he was a co-owner for 15 years. He volunteered many hours restoring a B17 with the Texas Raiders.
Doug is preceded in death by his parents Jack and Ethelene Loftin.
He is survived by his loving daughters Kassidy Loftin and Amanda and son-in-law Casey Vallow. He has one grandchild Evan. He leaves behind only brother Leslie and sister-in-law Donna Loftin and their daughters Allison Loftin and Anjanette Murray and her children.
Doug is loved and will be missed. The family will receive friends on Friday, December 26, 2014 from 5-8 pm at SouthPark Funeral Home in Pearland, Texas. The funeral service will be held Saturday, December 27, 2014 at 10 am in the Chapel of SouthPark Funeral Home with the interment at Trinity Cedar Grove Cemetery at 3 pm in Trinity, Texas.
