Mrs. Dorothy Ruth Holtman's Obituary
Dorothy Ruth Holtman, 84 passed away on Monday January 1, 2018 at Oak Ben Hospital in Richmond, TX at 1:40 PM.
She was born on March 7, 1933 in West Columbia, TX to Jesse Roy Hoot and Leocadia Ella Kaminski Hoot, the second of four children.
Dorothy married Clemens Franklin Holtman on August 7, 1964. Upon their retirements from H L & P Co. and Prudential they traveled extensively all over the US in their 26 ft Motor Home, one time being gone for one month. They also built a house on Lake Travis in Austin where they enjoyed water skiing. Clem became ill for an extended time and died July 5, 1991. Dorothy continued to keep the three acre property in Manvel until she decided to move to Country Place Retirement Community in Pearland. She lived there until she became ill November 2012. She lived at Oak village Health Care and Atria Sugar Land thereafter. Her health continued to decline until her death on January 1, 2018 of heart failure.
Everywhere she lived she made friends, served faithfully at her church as a member and sang in the choir. She kept her friends and neighbors supplied with her delicious offerings of food when they were needed.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sister Mattie Justice, daughter Susan M. Jones, and brother Franklin D. Hoot.
She is survived by sister Diana L. Ellermann and husband Ronald D., son Donnie Wayne Jordy and wife Cynthia Wyman. Six Grandchildren: Rachel Olheiser and husband Daniel, Lance Ryan Jordy and wife Kenna Rena, Natalie Kay Jordy, Grant Skylar Jordy and wife Rebecca Louise Crim, Garrett Lee Simpson, and Matthew Glen Simpson. Four Great Grandchildren: Laira Aubrey Card, Katlyn Ruth Jordy, Anna Hope Jordy, and Caleb Ryan Jordy.
Dorothy is also survived by extended family members and many friends
Funeral services will be held @ 1:30 PM January 4, 2018 @ South Park Funeral Home, 1310 North Main, Pearland, TX. Visitation @ 12:30-1:30 PM
