Mrs Dorothy Bell Bandy's Obituary
Dorothy was born in Huffman, TX to Emery & Fannie May. One of 10 children, she is survived by two brothers, Van May (Georgia) & Pat Neal May (Mary); sister, Joyce Brown (Felton); sister in law, Irene May (Keith, deceased) and many nieces and nephews. Dorothy lived on a farm, went through the Great Depression, loved playing basketball in high school, dancing and loved covering her shoes to match her outfits. On February 3, 1940, she married Arvin E. Bandy and together they moved several times, ran a gas station, motel and settled into Real Estate, went on trail rides, they rode with Southern Trail Ride where Arvin was trail boss. They also went on the Long Horn Steer Drive to Dodge City Kansas. She had a full life until Alzheimers took over in 2005. Her favorite and most memorable phrase was "I Swanny!" Dot May (as she was often called) is survived by a daughter, Kay Bandy Koneschik Scarcella (Butch) and son, Ted Wayne Bandy. Grandchildren are June Koneschik Coale (Chris), Terrell Koneschik (Mary), John Koneschik and Jill Bandy Herbert (Mark). Great grandchildren are Jacob Dozier, Jessica Dozier, Amy Dozier Hartt, Lianna and Elliot Hebert and Amber, Amanda and Jacob Singleton. Great great grandchildren are Kaydon Dozier, Keyanah Hatchette, Madison, Nataleigh and Peyton Hartt. She was predeceased by husband, Arvin; brothers, Keith, Walker, Ennis, Harry, and O'Brian May; sister, Paulene Miller; grandson, Tod Bandy; nephew, Don Miller and best friends Ivy Harvey and Margie Chambers. Now she is "Together Again" with them all. We will miss you mother, mammason, grandmother, sister and aunt.
