Mrs. Doris Celia Hosmer's Obituary
Doris C. Hosmer, 94, born November 6, 1920 in Troy, Kansas went home to be with the Lord her Saviour, Sunday, November 23, 2014 at her home in Pearland, Texas.
Doris was a Lieutenant serving in the Army Nurse Corp. during WWII. She was a registered nurse and worked in several different Houston hospitals during her nursing career. She retired from Alvin Community Hospital in Alvin, Texas.
Doris was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She is survived by her daughter Barbara Smith and husband Tom; son Gary Hosmer and wife Cecilia; 7 grandchildren: Richard Smith, Cindy Wilkinson, Tim Smith, Jacob Hosmer and wife Lilly, Lucas Hosmer and wife Nicole, Jessica Hosmer and Krystle Hosmer; and 7 great-grandchildren: Nathanael, Benjamin, Danny, Ella, Ethan, Millie and Aiden. She is also survived by her brother William Wesley Arnold and wife Betty and sister-in-law Tish Arnold all of Pharr, Texas.
Doris was preceded in death by her parents, Russell D. and Mary Ellen Arnold, her brother Allen A. Arnold and her husband of 54 years Harry L. Hosmer.
Graveside at Roselawn Cemetery 1201 S. Main McAllen, TX. 78501 will at held at 2:00pm on Saturday, November 29, 2014.
