Doris "Dosie" Freeman Boyer's Obituary
Doris "Dosie" Freeman Boyer, 89 of Iowa Colony, went to be with our Lord on November 30, 2012. Doris was born in York Haven, PA, to Carl E. Freeman and Ida Jane Small. She was engaged in dance and elocution at a very young age and recited on stage and radio from the age of four. Doris loved the beauty of poetry and the gracefulness of ballet. As a child she would "dance everywhere one walks or runs; up the stairs, down the stairs, from the basement to the third floor of our home, and while setting the table one utensil at a time". The beauty and gracefulness she loved so much was evident in her writing and her movements throughout her life. Doris married Fred Cullin Boyer on November 11, 1942 and later became the mother of 3 children. In1952 they moved their family to Houston, Texas where she worked in the insurance industry. She retired from TheTravelers Insurance Co. in 1983. After retiring she treasured being surrounded by her ever growing family.
Doris is survived by her daughter Sue Bayless, and two sons; Fred Boyer and wife Corinne, and Bob Boyer; 6 grandchildren, 11 great-grand children, numerous nieces, nephews, and other beloved family and friends.
A graveside service to remember Doris's life will begin at 2 pm, Wednesday, December 5, 2012 at South Park Cemetery, Pearland, Texas. Officiating at the service will be her pastor Ernie Stuart.
We can all remember her by knowing that she is now dancing in the streets of Heaven, praising God.
