In Loving Memory of Dora Maria Garza Perez

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Dora Maria Garza Perez, who peacefully left this world on August 2, 2025, surrounded by her loved ones. Born in Eagle Lake, TX, on August 10, 1936, Dora was the cherished daughter of Jose Catarino Garza and Leonor De La Rosa Garza. She is preceded in death by her husband, Paul Perez, her parents and her siblings, Elizabeth Leonor Abbott , Raquel Garza and Guillermo Israel Garza.
Dora’s legacy lives on through her loving children, Paul Perez Jr (Angie), Ricky Perez (Wendy), Rosalinda De La Rosa (Charles), Elizabeth Luna (Gustavo), Adam Perez (Ivon), Gilbert Perez (Beverly), and Joann Sanchez (Meliton). She was a proud grandmother to 26 grandchildren, 36 great grandchildren and 5 great, great grandchildren.
Dora was more than a mother and grandmother – she was friend to many and a bright light in the lives of all who know her. Her warm personality, infectious laugh, and welcoming spirit made everyone feel at home. She had a special bond with her dogs, especially Angel, and brought joy wherever she went. When asked how she was doing, her trademark response was always, “Fine and dandy.” Cheerful and clever, she had a way of seeing through any mischief and always kept everyone on their toes.
Dora enjoyed watching NCIS, sharing stories and spending time with her loved ones. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all those who were blessed enough to cross her path.
