Mrs. Donna Witt Jones' Obituary
Donna Jones, 88, of Pasadena, Texas passed away Jan. 14, 2009 at her home with family at her side. Donna was born in Ossian, Iowa to John & Nellie Witt on May 11, 1920. She graduated from Ossian High School in 1937. Donna was married to harry Jones on Dec. 1, 1945 in Chicago, Illinois. She is survived by her three children: David Jones of Spring, Texas; Carol (Floyd) Taylor of Pearland, Texas; and Kathy Jones of Denver, Colorado. Three grandchildren: Patricia (Stephen) Burnett of La Porte, Texas; Stephanie (John) Hastings of Clinton, Arkansas; and Steven (LeaAnn) Jones of Shirley, Arkansas. Seven great grandchildren: Taylor and Tabitha Burnett; Victoria, Tiara, and J.W. Hastings; Gabie and Hayden Jones. Two sisters: Nelda (Jack) Weaver and Irma O'Connor both of Cedar Rapids, Iowa. One brother; Martin (Darlene) Jennings of Springville, Iowa. She is also survived by her goddaughter; Janet Klawes of Burlington, Wisconsin, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Donna is preceded in death by her parents and husband Harry; five brothers; Clarence, Walt, Ray, Dell, John Jr.; four sisters, Charlotte, Rosell, Marie, and Darlene. Donna was a member of The Order of the Eastern Star Magnolia Chapter No. 706. President of P.T.A. at Edison Jr. High (1963-64). Member of Central Park Methodist Church in Houston for many years until they moved to Pasadena and then a long time member of Golden Acres United Methodist Church. Donna enjoyed being active in her community and church. She loved sending cards to her friends. The family will receive friends Friday, Jan. 16, 2009 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at SouthPark Funeral Home. A celebration of life will be held Saturday, Jan. 17, 2009, at 11 a.m. in the chapel of SouthPark Funeral Home. Interment will follow at SouthPark Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donation may be made to Golden Acres Methodist Church in Pasadena, Texas or a charity of your choice.
