Mr. Donald Jackson Phillips' Obituary
Donald Jackson Phillips was granted his angel wings on July 14, 2018. He was 70 years old. His final days were spent surrounded by family and friends that Don had touched in some small way throughout his short, yet very memorable life. Don’s life would seem too short to many, but those who were touched by him understood that the quality of existence far exceeds the quantity of time in which one lives. His gentle smile, and strong warmth brought joy to many. Although he was weak and frail, he gave us all such courage and hope and reminded us of the preciousness of life. Don spent many years hunting and fishing with his dad. He and his late wife had a marriage that most people dream of having. He loved doing for others. If you needed help with something Don was there for you in a heartbeat. His hobbies were woodworking, painting, and fishing. Don spent the last few years helping raise his granddaughter. She was the light in his eye. Don is survived by his daughter Becky Leighton and her husband Craig Leighton, granddaughter Kaylee Dove, brother Tommy Phillips and forever friend Becky Edwards. He is preceded in death by his parents Irene and Jack Phillips and his wife Gale Phillips.
