Mr. Donald "Dick" Richard Bockel's Obituary
Donald Richard "Dick" Bockel was born in Houston on January 27, 1931 and passed away October 16, 2010. He was descended from German pioneers who settled in Houston in 1844. A lifelong resident of the old Almeda area. He worked in the oil field service industry for many years retiring from HOMCO Int'l. He was an active rancher all his adult life. He was an all around cattleman born and bred to the saddle. He enjoyed traditional country music and western swing. Survived by his wife of 60 years Evelynn Bockel; son, Jim (Lola) Bockel; daughter, Denise (Johnny) Kembro; four grandchildren, Eric Kembro, Brian Kembro, J.J. Bockel, Deanna Hunt and five great grandchildren; brothers, Earl (Daisy) Bockel and Don Kemp.
