Dolores Rodriguez (Lolita) went peacefully to be with her Heavenly Father on December 5, 2019.
Dolores was born on December 6, 1943 in Houston, Texas. She was born to Espiridion & Josefina Acosta. She grew up in Houston, Texas alongside her 18 siblings. She married her childhood first love Enrique Rodriguez on December 29, 1962. Over the years, she gave birth to five wonderful children. She had a kind, pure heart and loved making others smile. Her eyes lit up at the sight of her grandchildren & great grandchildren.
Dolores was the key to her family. She enjoyed bringing everyone together for a fresh home cooked meal and some good old quality time filled with happiness and laughter. There was never a dull moment with her bright soul. She enjoyed sitting out on her front porch, listening to the oldies. Her favorite song was Soldier Boy because she said it was her song when Ricky was in the army and was singing this song even a week before passing. She enjoyed watching the grandkids run all over her huge porch. Dolores adored all of her children, grandchildren & great grandchildren with all her heart.
Dolores is preceded in death by her parents, sisters Ramona, Angie, Rosie, Theresa, Mary, Olivia and brothers Jesse, Joe, Albert, Roy and granddaughter Cristina.
Dolores is survived by her loving husband of 56 years Enrique Rodriguez., daughter Josie Barcenas & husband Homero, sons Enrique Rodriguez, Jr., Fermin Rodriguez & Wife Marta, Valentine Rodriguez & Wife Mari, & Felipe Rodriguez. She’s also survived by her grandchildren Danielle, Dawn, Gabriel, Jessica, Valeria, Jeremy, Laura, Valerie, Alexander,Sebastian, Milagros, Camila, and by her great grandchildren Michael, Alliah, Aaron, Joshua, Noah, Anthony, Jacob, Joseph, Elijah, Rafael, David, Celeste & Liam, sisters Alice, Esther, Helen & Isabel.
A visitation to celebrate Dolores’ beautiful life is scheduled for Tuesday, December 10, 2019 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM with a rosary at 7:00 PM in the chapel at SouthPark Funeral Home; a funeral service on Wednesday, December 11, 2019 at 10:00 AM at St. Helen’s Catholic Church, 2209 Old Alvin Rd., Pearland, Texas 77581; she will be laid to rest at SouthPark Cemetery, 1310 N. Main St., Pearland, Texas 77581.
