Mr/ Dewayne Edgar's Obituary
Dewayne Edgar, 80, of Houston passed away after a short illness on Tuesday, June 3, 2014. He was born to the late Marvin and Eula Mae (Morgan) Edgar in Wood Hi, TX on June 17, 1933. He was the former owner of Nix Pest Control, retired at the age of 60. Also a member of the U.S. Army from 1952-1954, stationed in Alaska. Dewayne enjoyed spending time with his beautiful family and wonderful friends. He will be greatly missed by all that knew him. He was an Astro fan at heart, never missed watching and cheering on the game. Survivors include his wife, Shirley Roberts Edgar of 32 years; sister, Edith (Jerry) Buzek of Victoria; sister-in-law, Dolly Edgar of Huntsville; mother-in-law, Betty Roberts of Pasadena; sister-in-law, Molly (David) Angie of Houston, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends that thought the world of Dewayne. He is preceded in death by his parents; father-in-law, Melvin Roberts; brother, Marvin Edgar, Jr.; sisters, Margret Finn, Georgia Marsh and nieces and nephews. The family wishes to express sincere gratitude to the doctors, nurses and staff at Clear Lake Regional Hospital. Also, thanks to the many friends and relatives who supported the family during this difficult time. A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, June 13, 2014 at 12:30PM at SouthPark Funeral Home. The service will be officiated by Mike Utley. In lieu of flowers please make a donation to a charity of your choice.
