Desiderio Salazar
Desiderio Salazar, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather passed away on October 9,
2023. He was 87 years old.
Desiderio is survived by his two sisters; Ma de la Luz and Maria Victoria,
his children; Benjamin, Natividad and his wife Maricruz, Minerva, Sara and her husband Javier, and his
stepson, Noe, fifteen grandchildren; John, Richard, Claudia, Vanessa, Kimberly, Katherine, Benjamin Jr, Peter,
Kevin, Natividad Jr., Daniela, Roman, Javier II, Stephen, Viviana, and twelve great-grandchildren. Desiderio is
preceded in death by his parents Natividad and Maria Juana, his beloved wife Minerva, his brothers; Elias,
Jose, Dionicio, Manuel and Natividad, and his beloved sons and daughter; Rebecca, Pedro and Desiderio II.
Desiderio was born on May 12, 1936 in Ejido El Ebanito, municipio de Matamoros, Tamaulipas, Mexico. He
worked as a foreman in construction for the majority of his life before his retirement.
In addition to his work, Desiderio was a loving family man. He was married to the mother of his children,
Minerva Salazar for 51 years; they married in 1955 and fathered seven children, fifteen grandchildren, and
twelve great-grandchildren. He spent the majority of his life in Houston, Texas, but traveled throughout the
United States as a young man for work. He married again after the death of his first wife Minerva, to
Juana-Maria Mendoza- Zarzoza and they were married for fifteen years before his passing.
Desiderio loved his family more than anything and spending time with them was his favorite pastime. He also
enjoyed gardening and keeping a perfect yard was a passion of his. Desiderio was known for his heart and
sense of humor, as he always had words of advice or a funny anecdote ready for his friends and family,
whichever they needed. Desiderio was also a man of unwavering faith, as his love of God will forever be the
legacy his family carries with them. They are comforted in this time knowing that he now rests easy in the arms
of the Lord.

87 años.
A Desiderio le sobreviven sus dos hermanas; Ma de la Luz y María Victoria, sus hijos; Benjamín, Natividad y
su esposa Maricruz, Minerva, Sara y su esposo Javier y su hijastro, Noé, quince nietos; John, Richard,
Claudia, Vanessa, Kimberly, Katherine, Benjamín Jr, Peter, Kevin, Natividad Jr., Daniela, Román, Javier II,
Stephen, Viviana y doce bisnietos. Desiderio fue precedido en la muerte por su querida esposa Minerva, sus
hermanos; Elías, José, Dionicio, Manuel y Natividad y sus hijos; Rebecca, Pedro y Desiderio II.
Desiderio nació el 12 de mayo de 1936 en el Ejido El Ebanito, municipio de Matamoros, Tamaulipas, México.
Trabajó como supervisor en la construcción durante la mayor parte de su vida antes de jubilarse.
Además de su trabajo, Desiderio era un gran hombre de familia. Estuvo casado con la madre de sus hijos,
Minerva Salazar, durante 51 años; se casaron en 1955 y fueron padres de seis hijos, quince nietos y doce
bisnietos.
Pasó la mayor parte de su vida en Houston, Texas, pero viajó por todos los Estados Unidos cuando era joven
para cumplir con su trabajo. Se casó de nuevo después de la muerte de su primera esposa Minerva, con
Juana-María Mendoza-Zarzoza y estuvieron casados durante quince años antes de su fallecimiento.
Desiderio amaba a su familia más que nada, y pasar tiempo con ellos era su pasatiempo favorito. También le
encantaba trabajar y mantener su jardín en perfectas condiciones; lo cual disfrutaba mucho haciendo.
Desiderio era conocido por su gran corazón y su sentido del humor, él siempre tenía consejos o anécdotas
listas para su familia y amigos cuando las necesitaban. Desiderio era un hombre de fe firme, y su amor por
Dios, nuestro Señor, será el legado que llevará su familia por siempre. Su familia se consuela sabiendo que
Desiderio ahora descansa en los brazos del Señor.
