Delight Abigail Brown's Obituary
Delight Abigail Brown was born 1976 in Grenada, the island of spice and died September 16, 2024 in Houston, TX.
Delight grew up in the town of Labouri in Grenada, where she faced many trials and tribulations. She survived a harsh childhood that instilled a drive in her where nothing would stop her from accomplishing her goals.
Delight made the move from Grenada to New York in 2001. She left everything behind with one promise to her two children: “I'll be back.” Soon after, she fell in love with her neighbor David Brown. In her words, she saw him and knew in her heart he was supposed to be her husband. In 2007, she became the proud wife of a very diligent and hardworking man.
Delight honored her promise to her children. She not only came back to see them but brought them to New York to start a new life together with her and her husband.
Delight gave the best she could to her family, and she devoted all she had to loving God. She was a caregiver, a writer, and a lover of nature. A true blessing to all those she came into contact with. From the many children she raised as a nanny. The homeless men and women she would feed and spread the word of God too, and most importantly, to her family and friends. Although she was a woman of faith, she had many flaws and challenges, but she did her best to love people with the love of God. She walked faithfully to God no matter what the costs were. She lived a life standing on speaking the truth, showing respect, love, and forgiveness.
Delight was blessed by God with many gifts, one of which is a green thumb. She always knew the tricks for growing and taking care of plants and flowers. Most will fondly remember her for her caring, compassionate nature and her ability to go to war in prayer. A woman who would pray for everyone non-stop. She prayed for those who were good to her and those who have wronged her unjustly.
Delight is survived by her husband David, her daughter Cemmone, and son Shamone, her father Desmond, her sister Gezel, her sister Debbie, her brother Carlie, her brother Neron, her aunt Rita her aunt Sherry-Ann, her friend Deloris, her friend Michelle, and her friend Leah. Along with several other friends and family members who loved and cherished her dearly. She will be greatly missed by all.
Delight is preceded in death by her Mother Margert Williams.
