Deborah Meador's Obituary
In loving memory of Deborah Jo Meador, who entered this world on August 15, 1949 in Houston, Texas to Fred and Margie Chapman.
A true pioneer in her career, Deborah exemplified resilience and determination by earning her Associates Degree from the University of Houston while working a full time job and raising her children. She began her career in 1976 with Dresser Industries, working in the Human Resources department for Dresser Magcobar, Drilling Fluids Division. She held several positions throughout her career, where her leadership broke barriers and inspired many around her, eventually retiring after 37 years as Director of Human Resources with M-I Swaco. She was part of the generation of women that paved the way and shattered glass ceilings for the women that would follow.
Beyond her illustrious career, Deborah was a sister to Fred and Ann Chapman. She was a devoted mother to four children, Melissa Meador Loftin, David Meador and spouse Karen, Guy Cermenelli and spouse Stacey, and Leah Cermenelli. Her influence extends to a multitude of grandchildren, Dakota and Yen Loftin, Lauren Smith, Kirsten and Blake Supak, Sarah and Augie Fitzpatrick, Kayla Johnson, Bryce Cermenelli, Braydon Cermenelli, Kinley Daniels and Kaison Daniels. She was very proud of her great grandchildren JD Smith, Eleanor Loftin and Lynnix Gascey and very much looked forward to meeting Finn Fitzpatrick and Brylee Supak. She was also fortunate to have many cherished in-laws and out-laws, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
Known for her tenacity, Deborah was a force to be reckoned with. Whether at the helm of a boardroom meeting or the heart of a family celebration, her impact was undeniable. She loved the beach and started an annual family vacation that has included generations of family and friends which continues to this day. She was the OG thrifter, DIYer and repurposer. She was a crafty, creative soul and a talented painter. She loved her dogs!
Deborah is preceded in death by her husband, Guy Cermenelli, and her parents, Margie Schooley Chapman and Fred Chapman Jr.
As we bid farewell to this extraordinary soul, we reflect on the indelible mark Deborah has left on our hearts and lives. May her memory continue to inspire us, and may she find eternal peace in the company of those who went before her.
