Mr. David R. Ramirez's Obituary
David Romero Ramirez, beloved husband, father, and grandfather, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 25, 2015, at the age of 78. David was born January 27, 1937, in Eagle Lake, Texas to Nicolas and Delores Ramirez. He is preceded in death by his mother, father, and three siblings. After leaving his hometown, he moved to Pasadena, Texas for twenty years, and then settled in La Porte, Texas for the remainder of his life.
David is survived by the love of his life of 51 years, Janie Ramirez; his son, Isaac Ramirez; his daughter, Marina Moreno and her husband Justin; three grandchildren, Tessa Moreno, Megan Moreno, and Matthew Moreno; a great grand son, Matthew Calvin Adams Jr., and a host of other close family members and friends.
David proudly served in the United States Army during the Korean War. He was a truck driver early in his career and retired at the age of 62. He was a free spirit and loved to be around his loved ones. David was a legend in his own time and will be deeply missed by his family and friends.
Funeral services will be held at South Park Funeral Home on Thursday, March 5, 2015, beginning with the viewing at 9:00 am, and with the services to follow at 10:00 am. The burial will take place at Houston National Cemetery located at 10410 Veterans Memorial Drive, Houston, TX 77038, at 2:15 pm.
