Darla Yevette Stubbs' Obituary
Darla Talley Necessary Stubbs entered into God’s Kingdom on September 13, 2022 . She was born the only child to Ralph and Yvonne Callihan Talley on August 7, 1937 in Palestine, TX.
She was a loyal servant to God, and loved First Baptist Church Pasadena where she was a choir member for many years. One of her greatest joys was to participate in the Singing Christmas Tree. She was blessed to be raised in a Christian home, and was enrolled on the Cradle Roll at 1st Congressional Bible School in September 1937. She accepted Christ as her personal saviour, and was baptized at Alta Vista Baptist Church in March 1954. She was baptized a second time in the Jordan River by Jon Redmond in March 2010.
She was a proud member of Pasadena High School Class of 1955, where she played French Horn in the band under the direction of Dr. Gene Stuchberry.
She was married to Deverl Necessary in August, 1956 until July 1988, and together they raised David Ray and Susan Darlene Necessary. She was very active in the community during this time serving in the PTA and Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts. She was an Honorary Drum Major for the Pasadena Eagle Band for her assistance in making it possible for her children, and the band to participate in the 1974 Orange Bowl parade.
She was married to Earl Stubbs in September 1988 until his death in October 1998. Together they enjoyed watching their grandchildrens’ many activities including ballgames, plays, and concerts. They also enjoyed traveling around the country and viewing God’s beauty.
She joins her parents, her son David Ray Necessary, and great grandson Kael Austin Hartman in Heaven. She is survived by her daughter, Darlene Leger and husband Roland of Deer Park,TX, Daughter in Law Gwyn Necessary and husband Mike of Pearland, TX, Grandchildren Travis Hamilton of Deer Park,TX, Brandon Leger and wife Stephanie of Kirkland, WA, Cameron Leger and wife Leslie of Deer Park,TX, Bunny Borrego and husband Ronnie of Pasadena, TX, Kristina Necessary Corcovelos and husband Brian of Pearland, TX, Great Grandchildren Elizabeth Brown, Alexander Briand and wife Morgan, Bryce Leger, Ethan Leger, Landry Leger, Malachi Hartman, Breccan Corcovelos and Ezra Corcovelos, numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, other family members, her church family, and many friends.
Her favorite scriptures were John 3:16 and Phillipians 4:13, and she lived her life accordingly.
Darla’s viewing will be held on Friday, September 23, 2022 from 5pm -8pm at South Park Funeral Home, Pearland, TX.
Her funeral services will be held at First Baptist Church Pasadena on Saturday, September 24, 2022 at 11:00am. The burial will follow at 12:30pm at South Park Cemetery.
