Danny Owen Lytle's Obituary
Danny Owen Lytle, was born August 16,1949. He was born in Seminole, Oklahoma of parents Owen and Jean Lytle. Dan passed away on Sunday June 28, 2020 in La Porte, Texas at the age of 70.
While growing up in Seminole, he would always ask for his Gram’s Cinnamon rolls because Dan’s taste buds were always engaged. His traditions and teachings in the art of the “Thanksgiving” will be passed on to this generation.
He attended highschool at Cooper H.S with the class of 1969 in Abilene, Texas where he played baseball.
He then enlisted into the US Army near the end of the Vietnam era in 1968 to 1971 as a PV1 and was promoted to Sergeant by the end of his career with the 74th ARTY (Artillery) DET USAREUR in Heidelberg, Germany.
After his military career, he returned to Oklahoma where he worked for Wrangler in the late 70’s and the oil field in the 80’s. He moved to Houston in 1989 to work in the environmental / hazmat field. Through the eyes of his peers and colleagues he would become a dedicated friend and employee for companies like Garner, Boots and Coots, OMI and SLICK Response.
Dan highly supported and loved his family. He attended Dickens on the Strand to support his wife, he was his brother hero in moments of his life and a teacher/and a coach. He would teach his step kids to be reliable on how to fix their vehicles and to hold that flashlight, so he could see when making repairs at night. Sports were a big part of Dan’s life from watching events such as NASCAR, baseball, football to coaching girls softball. His favorite college football team to root for was the Oklahoma Sooners. He was an avid fan through their highs and lows.
He was survived by his wife, Janell Lytle of 25 years and his mother, Jean Lytle. With two step children Justin Landolt, Nichole (wife) and Travis Landolt. He was a father to his son Jason Lytle and Renee (wife) with their children, Rylie, Ashlynd and Axel. His brother Gary Lytle and Karen (wife) with children Eric, Heather(wife), Misty, Blake (husband) parents of Austin), Shane, Kourtney (wife), Cody, Jessica(wife)parent of Dylan),and Bryan.
He was preceded in death by his father, Owen, and his granddaughter, Shelby.
