Daniel Joseph Sauter's Obituary
Daniel Joseph Sauter passed peacefully into the arms of our Lord on January 18, 2024 at the age of 62. He was born in New Orleans, Louisiana on December 8, 1961 to Walter and Lenora Sauter, the third of four children, and raised there in a large loving extended family. Danny moved to Houston after graduation from Marion Abramson High School in New Orleans and soon met his best friend and future wife Deborah Dominy Sauter. They were married in the summer of 1988 and settled in New Orleans where Danny began his career as a fireman with the New Orleans Fire Department and as a pawnbroker in New Orleans East. Danny gained many lifelong friendships throughout his years as a fireman and a pawnbroker. Danny and Debbie were soon blessed with three children and raised them in Slidell until Danny’s early retirement in 2004. After retirement the family relocated to Friendswood, Texas and eventually Pearland, Texas. During this time Danny never lost his love of all things New Orleans including Mardi Gras festivities, Saints football and most importantly the Cajun food culture. His love language was food and lots of it! He enjoyed cooking for family, friends and neighbors alike. Some of the best times of his life during those years were supporting his children in sporting events and sharing his passion for cooking with the many kids that visited the Sauter home. Danny was preceded in death by his parents and his older brother Walter. He leaves to mourn his passing his wife of 35 years, Debbie and his three children Daniel Jr., Jonathan and Sarah Sauter, all of Pearland, his sister Judy Vogel and his brother Frank Sauter and wife Sylvia, all of Louisiana, his sister-in-law Marla Hurley and husband Matt of Houston and their children Luke Hurley of Nashville, Patrick Hurley and Anna Hurley of Houston, his father and mother- in-law Marvin and Leah Dominy of Pearland and a host of other family and friends in both Texas and Louisiana. You’re invited to visit with the family Friday, January, 26 from 4:30 to 5:30 at South Park Funeral Home located at 1310 North Main in Pearland. A memorial service will follow at 5:30 in the chapel.
