Curtis Eugene Ellis' Obituary
Curtis Eugene Ellis, beloved husband, father, and friend, went home to be with His Lord on April 20, 2025, at the age of 74. He was born on July 19, 1950, in Houston, Texas to Curtis L. Ellis, Jr. and Connie Lee Ellis.
Curtis was a devoted husband and is survived by his loving wife, Nancy Ellis, with whom he shared 44 years of love, partnership, and memories. Together, they built a life full of joy and unwavering support for one another. He is also survived by his daughter, Dana M. Ellis, as well as many extended family members and friends who will miss him dearly.
Curtis worked in commercial painting as the owner of Universal Coating Specialists for twenty-eight years. Known for his work ethic and commitment to excellence, he built more than a business – he built a legacy.
Outside of work, Curtis found joy in the great outdoors. He was an avid hunter, a world traveler and had a special love for the mountains of Colorado. Winter Park, Colorado became a treasured place for him and Nancy where they made lifelong memories together. Curtis never hesitated to lend a hand to someone in need. For many years, he served as a volunteer helping physically challenged children learn to ski and snowshoe.
A graveside service celebrating Curtis’ life will be held on Monday, April 28, 2025, at Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery located at 6900 Lawndale St, Houston, Texas 77023. Guests are invited to gather in the front parking lot and join the caravan to the gravesite.
Curtis Eugene Ellis will be remembered for his integrity, love, and generosity. His legacy will live on in the hearts of those who were blessed to know him.
