Constancio Reyes Venturina's Obituary
Constancio Reyes Venturina, resident of Pearland, Texas, passed away on June 27, 2022, at his daughter’s residence surrounded in love by his family at the age of 90.
Constancio is preceded in death by his father Leon, mother Longina, his Kuya Romy, youngest sibling Doring, his Kuya Pepe, his brother Poling, sisters Bella and Julita, and his wife Marina. He will be deeply missed by his only surviving brother Honorato, his daughters Myrna, Corazon, Mercy, Cecilia, niece Annabelle and husband Jun, his son-in-laws Raphy, Verly, Aris, and grandchildren Matthew, Regine, Cerena, Everzon, Carlos, Samantha, Claris, and Gabe, as well as a myriad of nieces, nephews, cousins, family members and friends whose lives he touched dearly.
A self-made man. Constancio spent his growing years in Bulacan province with his father Leon and 3 brothers Herminio, Honorato, and Teodorico. Their mother Longina passed away while they were very young. The Venturina brothers had to earn their keep during their growing years. As a young boy, he had to work as a kubrador ng jueteng, a bet collector for a small town lottery game. He had to be separated from his siblings to live among his relatives in Manila. He worked his way through college and earned a degree in Accountancy from the Far Eastern University in Manila, Philippines. He worked at Casa Blanca Apartments in Ermita, Manila where he met his wife Marina Aguilar.
A true pillar of the house. Constancio and his wife Marina worked hard to provide their four beautiful daughters and niece with Catholic education. He made sure they all got a degree in the medical field. To supplement his income, Constancio and Marina spent long hours on the road with the sturdy Ford Fiera selling rice and eggs. They had a little store in their village where neighbors could buy necessities and pay for them later.
The little guy with a big heart. Constancio shared with others his knowledge of life and how to survive it. He taught a lot of impoverished family members in the Philippines how to drive and learn business skills. He would check anybody’s blood pressure and blood glucose using his equipment whenever he visited the province. He stayed true to his promise to his wife Marina to love her through thick and thin, in sickness and in health. As a retired manager, he worked in the kitchen to make the best Palabok, Arroz Caldo, Kare Kare, Sinigang and Biko.
Constancio, from the word constance, lived steadfastly throughout his 90 years. He believed in these tenets:
Honesty is the best policy.
Education is the best investment.
Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day.
Teach him how to fish and you feed him for a lifetime.
Constancio is a dreamer who worked hard to make his dreams come into reality.
