Clarence Alfons Dieringer, 89, of Houston, Texas, passed away on August 27, 2023.
Clarence was born on February 23, 1934, in Schulenburg, Texas to Frank and Alouisa Billeck Dieringer, he was the fourteenth child. He grew up in Freyburg, Texas, and attended Abbotts Grove School, finishing through the eighth grade. Clarence worked on the family farm until being drafted in 1954 for military training in the United States Army. In 1955, while being stationed in Karlsruhe, Germany, Clarence met Gertrud (Trudy) Schmidt and they were later married on July 19, 1956, in Karlsruhe. They returned to the United States in September of 1956 and were stationed in Fort Bragg, North Carolina until Clarence received an honorable discharge. They moved to Schulenburg, Texas, and then moved to Houston, Texas where they lived for over 50 years and raised four children. Clarence was a pipe fitter and later worked in sales, working on large vessels and structural fabrication. He enjoyed taking his four children camping and fishing.
Clarence is survived by two sons, Jimmy of Houston, Texas, and Thomas and his wife Celia of Houston, Texas, daughter Robin and her husband Scott Glaser of Magnolia, Texas, five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Clarence is preceded in death by his wife, Gertrud, son, Robert (Bobby), his parents, five sisters, and seven brothers.
A Celebration of Life and Interment at the Houston National Cemetery in Houston, Texas will be held at a later date.
