Chester Michael Burrows' Obituary
Chester Michael Burrows, 77, a Vietnam veteran and longtime resident of Manvel,
Texas passed away on August 2th , 2024. Michael, as he was known to many, was born
January 9, 1947 to Chester and Wanda Burrows and attended San Jacinto High School.
Upon graduation, Michael went to work for the Houston Belt & Terminal Railroad (Union
Pacific Railroad) as a trainman. Michael was drafted into the U.S. Army where he
proudly served in the Vietnam War. After the war, Michael returned home and continue
his previous employment with Houston Belt & Terminal, eventually retiring from Union
Pacific Railroad after 42 years.
Michael was married to Patricia Burrows (Honc) on December 9, 1978; they were
married for 45 years.
Michael was a proud member of the VFW Post 7109 Pearland and enjoyed the
camaraderie of all those that served, both young and old.
Michael is survived by wife, Patricia, daughter Tracey McNulty and her husband Ronnie
(granddaughter Megan, grandson Alton and great grandson Eathan), daughter Jill
Sanford and her husband Craig (grandson Forrest) and daughter Lesley Perkins and
her husband Alex (granddaughters Paisley and Reilly) and grandson Barret, sisters
Jeanne Martin, Mary Lee Neu Knowles and Gail Powell and numerous nieces, nephews
and cousins.
Michael is preceded in death by his parents, sister Rebecca Simon and grandson
Ronnie McNulty.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, September 5 th at 10:00am at South Park
Funeral Home in Pearland, Texas. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made
to VFW 7109, 4202 W. Walnut, Pearland, Texas 77581.
