Cheryl Ann Butler Curtis' Obituary
Cheryl Ann Butler Willis Curtis, age 75, peacefully entered into the arms of our Lord on August 19, 2023. She was born in Yoakum Texas on October 24, 1947 to Ernest Mearl and Annie Mae Butler.
In the summer of 1957, at the age of 9, Cheryl moved with her family to Houston Texas. There she lived the rest of her life.
Cheryl graduated in 1965 from Sam Houston High School. In 1967 she met James Ronald (Ronnie) Willis and they married in January of 1968. Together they had 3 daughters: Staci, Julie and Pamela, which they both loved with all of their hearts.
Cheryl worked for Gulf Publishing Company for 17 years, later worked for Sears, then retired from Harris County Toll Road Authority.
Cheryl loved life, loved the beach, loved gardening and bright colored flowers, loved all of nature big and small, but even more than these things, she loved Jesus. She had a smile that will be missed by all who knew her.
Cheryl is preceded in death by her parents Mearl and Ann Butler; Ronnie Willis, the father of her girls; and numerous Aunts and Uncles.
Cheryl is survived by her daughters: Staci and James Havard of Huntington TX; Julie and Mike Mathewson of Rosharon TX; Pamela and Blue Wade of Houston TX; Sister: Janice and Don McCullough of Spring Tx; Grandchildren: Brandon Morton (Lauren) of Huntington TX, Colton Havard (Madysen) of Huntington TX, Dylon Havard (Celeste) of Huntington TX, Sarah Kennedy (Jay) of League City TX, Lauren Mathewson (Cody) of Pearland TX, Brett Mathewson of Rosharon TX, Blue Wade Jr. of Houston TX, Michelle Wade of Houston TX; 12 great-grandchildren; Niece Sheri Hoffman (Cory) of Plantersville TX; Nephew: Glen McCullough of Spring TX.
Cheryl leaves behind a family that loved her. We will forever keep close to our hearts the many memories we all made together.
