Cheryl L. Coyle's Obituary
Cheryl Coyle, age 74, of Galveston, Texas, native of Houston, and formerly from Friendswood, Texas, passed away peacefully on November 21, 2022 at her home in Galveston. Cheryl was born on October 4, 1948 in Houston, Texas to John and Geraldine Leonard. She attended Catholic schools and graduated from high school in 1966 from Mount Carmel Catholic School. Cheryl is preceded in death by her youngest son, Zachary, and her parents.
Cheryl is survived by her husband of 45 years, William H. Coyle III (Bill); her children John Tharp and wife Sunny, Jennifer Valdez and husband Raul, Brian Coyle and wife Courtney, Jason Coyle and wife Sonya, and David Coyle; grandchildren Ashley, Alex, Jacob, Camryn, Cole, Ava, Garrett, Wyatt, Rowan, Logan, Kali, and great grandchildren Bennett, Aubree, Kadence, and Memphis; and siblings Jack Leonard, Debbie Bordelon, and Deana Hunter.
Cheryl’s life was grounded in one of her most cherished bible verses, Psalm 33:20: We put our hope in the Lord. He is our help and our shield. She was a dedicated mother and was lovingly known to her grandchildren as “CC.” More than anything, she enjoyed spending time with her family. Being a mother of six children, she was a patient and strong woman whom her children admired greatly. Being a mother was her greatest joy in life.
