Cheriyan Michael Cheriyan's Obituary
Cheriyan M. Cheriyan, age 76, was born on September 14, 1942 in Thalavady, India. He grew up and graduated high school in Thalavady. After finishing high school he joined the Indian Army and served in the Indian Army for 13 years. He married Susan (Acheyamma Oommen) in May 17, 1971. After their marriage they moved to the United States in 1975. Cheriyan attended college at TSTI in Waco, TX, and graduated with a computer programming degree in 1981. Then moved to Houston in 1981. He later moved to Friendswood with his family in 1982. He attended San Jacinto College and graduated with a radiology degree 1985. He eventually completed his CT and MRI technician course and worked for UTMB Galveston for 20 years.
Cheriyan was a long standing and active member of the Trinity Mar Thoma Church. His interests included family, gardening and watching sports. He devoted most of his time and energy towards church and his family members including his grandchildren until he was hospitalized.
Cheriyan was surrounded by his immediate family and friends and finished his mortal journey and started his spiritual journey with Jesus on Friday, September 6, 2019. Cheriyan was survived by his wife Susan, and their children and their family. Anil and his wife Asha and grandchildren Ashlin and Abel. Cecil and Salil and his wife Reeja and grandson Timothy.
Dad, we know you are in heaven surrounded by angels and without any pain or suffering. We promise that all the memories you left with us will cherish and remain with us through the rest of our lives. We love you dad, we love “Podi” we love our Appachan and we all shall meet in heaven again someday.

Would like to thank the doctors and medical staff at HCA Hospital in Webster for their loving care and support during his final days. A special thanks to the extended families, friends, church members who kept Cheriyan in their prayers and helped us thru this difficult time. Also, the family would like to extend their sincerest gratitude towards South Park Funeral Home for being very accommodating and understanding during this difficult time.
