Mrs. Charlyne Rae Triola-Mathews' Obituary
On February 23, 1963, God blessed us all with a beautiful baby girl. Her parents, Raymond and Gwynne Lipscomb Jared (Diephuis), could not have been more proud. Immediately, her grandfather Neilson, nicknamed her "Charly" which stuck with her throughout her life. Being the first grandchild on both sides of the family, (grandparents Neilson and Vivian Lipscomb and Frank and Burdette Jared), you can only imagine the love, affection and the attention she received. This made her a very self-assured and outgoing young lady and stayed with her as she became an adult. Charly and her family moved to Friendswood when she was three years old. As a child, she took dance and gymnastics, never being afraid to perform in recitals or anywhere the occasion arose. She was also a Bluebird and loved all the outdoor activities associated with the Bluebirds. As a teenager, she was active in school functions, playing in the band in junior high and performing in the pep club in high school. She attended Friendswood schools from kindergarten through high school and graduated from Friendswood High School in 1982.
She loved the water in any fashion. She started swimming at the age of 4 and as a true Pisces, she swam like a little fish. Take her out in the boat, give her a rod and reel and she was content to fish all day and still sing all the way back to the dock.
Friends and relatives seemed to gravitate to her where ever she went, and she never met a stranger. She was without a doubt the most loving, giving woman you could ever meet. Anytime someone needed help or just a shoulder, she was there - always putting others before her and truly giving from her heart to help.
The greatest loves in her life were her children, Brandon and Raechel. She would have done anything for either of them and always did. She was at every football and soccer game for Brandon, yelling until she was hoarse. She took Raechel to drill team practice, attended the football games when she performed and dance class every week and of course was in the audience to watch her recitals.
She had closeness with her brother, Ray Jared, like no other. So many times you could find them sitting together in one of their rooms just talking. They would confide in each other and were best of friends. Her nephew, Dalton Jared would always ask is Aunt Charly going to be here today. He always had fun when the two of them would bake cookies together
Her step-father, Paul Diephuis loved her like his own daughter. They always had a great relationship and adored each other. She turned to him many times for advice and often we would see them having personal chats together. She was so excited when her step-sister, Bridget Diephuis, came to live with us. The girls had a lot of fun together and it gave her a "little sister" to do "girl" things with.
Charly and her Mother were more than just Mother-Daughter, they were best of friends and each other's shoulder. They could tell what the other one was thinking and finish each other's statements.
Sixteen years ago she met another great love in her life, Kirby Mathews. Charly loved Kirby's daughters, Jannah and Deneka, and considered them as part of her own. Kirby got Charly a puppy named Skittles. That little fellow went everywhere Charly went; he never let her out of his sight. Charly and Kirby had so many good friends and totally enjoyed being with each and every one of them. She was the type of person that no matter how dark the time was, how sad the moment, she could always put a smile on your face and love in our hearts.
When she became ill several years ago, one of her greatest fears was that she would not get to see her grandchildren. God answered her prayers and blessed her with a beautiful granddaughter, Isabella "Bella" Foote, on March 25, 2010. No one had ever seen her happier. So we thought but, God did not stop there, he gave her another granddaughter, Kylie Martinez, on June 18, 2010. What those two little girls brought into her life, it was like nothing could bring her down. In July, 2010, God added to her excitement and brought the knowledge of a grandson, Romeo Triola. And just to be sure she knew that God heard her request, he let her know he was sending another grandson, Christian, to her family due in January 2011.
She was so happy and appearing so healthy, no one knew how bad her illness was except God, and to prevent her from any more pain and suffering, God called her home on December 18, 2010 to watch over her family and be our angel in heaven.
Charly was preceded in death by Grandfather, Neilson Lipscomb; Grandmother and Grandfather, Frank and Burdette Jared and Aunt Suzanne Latimer.
Left to cherish her memories are her husband, Kirby Mathews, son and wife, Brandon & Christine Foote, daughter, Raechel Triola, step-daughter Jannah Mathews, step-daughter Deneka Mathews and Casey Martinez, granddaughters Isabella Foote & Kylie Martinez, grandson Romeo Triola and future grandson Christian Mathews, mother & step-father, Gwynne & Paul Diephuis, father, Raymond Jared, Mother-in-Law, Beverly Mathews, brother Ray Jared, nephew Dalton Jared, step-sister, Bridget Diephuis, grandmother, Vivian Lipscomb, beloved dog, Skittles and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
Charly will be missed and loved more than words can express.
