Charlie Henry Van Natter III's Obituary
Charlie Henry Van Natter III went peacefully to be with the Lord, at his beloved home in Pearland on Saturday, December 3rd, 2016 with his loving wife, Vicki Van Natter by his side. Charlie, “Pa”, was born January 21, 1943 to Charlie Sr. and Helen Van Natter in South Houston,Texas. He is preceded in death by his parents, Charlie Sr. and Helen Van Natter, and father in law Jack Taylor. Survivors left to share his many stories and achievements are his loving wife of 43 years Vicki Van Natter, mother in law Ruth Taylor, daughters LeighAnne Marx and husband Paul Marx, Donna Gilbreath and husband Brett Gilbreath, Shawna Chavez and husband John Chavez, Autumn Seiler and husband Jonathan Seiler, Amber Primrose and husband J Stephen Primrose; grandchildren Stacey Childs II and wife Tarah, Crystal Childs, Chance Childs, Keeleigh Childs, Paige Gilbreath, Audrey Gilbreath, Claire Gilbreath, Nathan Marx, Sadie Glibreath, Elise Marx, Isabella Seiler, Dalton Primrose, Olivia Seiler, Parker Primrose, and Savannah Seiler. Great grandchildren Caleigh and Carter Childs, and Kase Krauskopf.
Charlie’s passion in life besides his family and friends were automobiles. In 1973, after 10 years with Gulf Oil, he turned his hobby into a business with the opening of his own paint and body shop called Coach Craft. Later around 1990, he created his own unique car called a Pegasus and then his company became Pegasus Motorcars. Charlie sold his business and retired in 2011. He had such a strong work ethic and love for cars, that he continued to buy and sell cars for people and participate in car shows. Organizing and being a part of the classic car section of the Houston Auto Show was a highlight for him every year.
Charlie was a resident of Pearland for 35 years, and a member of the First Baptist Church Pearland where he received salvation under the pastoral ship and friendship of Rick Scarborough, whom will also be leading the funeral services. Charlie touched many lives through the years with his creative eye, dry sense of humor, intelligence, and undeniable passion for cars. The family would like to offer a special thank you to Dr. Pranav Loyalka, his heart specialist to whom he called a friend. Serving as active pallbearers: Paul Marx, Brett Gilbreath, John Chavez, Jonathan Seiler, Steve Primrose, Stacey Childs II, Chance Childs, and Nathan Marx. The family will receive friends Sunday, December 11, 2016 from 5:00PM until 8:00PM at SouthPark Funeral Home 1310 North Main Street Pearland, Texas 77581. The funeral service will be held 10:30AM Monday, December 12, 2016 in the funeral home chapel, followed by burial in SouthPark Cemetery.
