Dad, words cannot express the heartache and emptiness I am feeling right now. I keep looking at my phone waiting for the "Good morning baby girl" texts to come in. And it's sad they won't come any longer. You taught me to stand up for myself when people hurt me and taught me if I wanted something I had to work hard for it. We've had good times and bad, but I have always loved you! Thank you for the big hug after you passed. You let me know you are alright. My heart is happy thst you are with Mom again - your soul mate. It's not goodbye, it's until we meet again! I love you and miss you dad!!! 💔😇🙏
Daddy,
You were the best father, grandfather, and great grandfather EVER. A true testament of integrity, perseverance, honesty, work ethic, and so much more. I had the best role model to help shape me into the person I am today. I’m going to miss your daily text messages, phone conversations, hugs, and kisses. I love you, daddy.
We love you, daddy/PawPaw Charlie.

Daddy I can’t believe you’re gone. Thank you for loving me even when I was a pain in your butt. You taught me how to ride my bike, play catch, love baseball (Go ‘Stros), and football, and to hate liver and onions! I’ll love you forever.
In the first photo, my daddy Jerald Higgins stands to the left next to his Uncle [Charlie] Ernest with family on the beach at Galveston. Jerald was born three months before his Uncle Ernest in 1936.
In the second photo, Uncle Ernest is pictured at a Higgins family reunion at the VFW Hall in Paragould, Arkansas. Left to right: Olon, Ernest, Dorothy, Nolon, Alma, and Loy--six of the original thirteen siblings.
It's comforting to know that Uncle Ernest had a large welcoming committee to greet him.
Much love to all who miss him.

You always welcomed me with open arms. And a smile. I could never put into words the impact you made on my husband. He loves you so much Pawpaw Charlie. He's hurting today but I can assure you that your memory will live on forever in our home and in our children's lives. You will be missed so much. And what an honor it is to have our son named after you. Jentrie misses you so much and has asked about you a lot. Her words..." Pawpaw Charlie has always been so nice to me" and she says you're her angel now. I'll do my best to keep these babies in line but I'm gonna need all the help I can get. So watch over us all down here. Until we meet again. Rest Easy. We love you.
Until we meet again
Losing someone you are so close to is something that alters your life forever. You are and will be dearly missed.
The years you shared with us will remind us of the great man you were. Rest in eternal peace, Uncle Charlie.
