Mr. Charles Edwen Verostko's Obituary
Mr. Charles Edwen Verostko, 85, passed away on May 15, 2017 in Webster, Texas. He was born on November 5, 1931 to John and Mary Verostko in Tarrs, Pennsylvania. Charles earned his Bachelor of Science Degree in Chemistry at Saint Vincent College in Latrobe, PA. He later moved to Houston, TX in the early sixties to start a career at NASA Johnson Space Center working on Life Support Systems to support human space flight. He eventually retired from NASA after 40+ year career. Outside of work, he loved playing tennis and chess. Charles is survived by his daughter Lisa, and two sons, Chris and Jeremy; and is preceded in death by his wife, Mary Elizabeth Verostko. His surviving siblings are Roman Verostko, Minneapolis, MN; Andrew Verostko, Richmond, VA; and Theresa Lesko, Tarrs, PA.
A Memorial Service will be held at SouthPark Funeral Home (1310 N. Main Street, Pearland, TX) on Friday, June 23, 2017 starting with a 1:00 pm visitation followed by a 2:00 pm service with interment to follow at South Park Cemetery. A reception will follow the service at Perry & Sons Market & Grille (614 S. Friendswood Drive, Friendswood) starting at 3:30 pm.
In lieu of flowers or gifts, please make any donations to the trusts of Charles’s daughter, Lisa, and son, Chris, as follows: Elisabeth Verostko Vanguard Supplemental Needs Trust and Christian Verostko Vanguard Supplemental Needs Trust. Or any donations can be given to the trustee, Jeremy Verostko, for allocation into Lisa and Chris’s trusts. The monies will go to their future care and needs.
