Charles Montgomery Sams' Obituary
Charles Montgomery Sams, passed away on May 14, 2023 at the age of 88 years old. Charles was born in Kansas City, Missouri on May 12, 1935 to Jess Franklin Sams and Rena Myrtle Sams.
When he was young, Charles enjoyed photography and developing his own pictures, playing chess, collecting guns, and spending time with his beloved dogs. He also loved anything Chocolate! He was in the US Marines, and later was a Harris County Sheriff’s deputy reserve. He worked for HL&P for 41 years, along with several security jobs, and later a courier for Clear Lake Hospital till his retirement.
Charles is preceded in death by his father, Jess Franklin Sams, and mother Rena Myrtle Sams; and his beloved canine companions Taz, Sadie and Phoenix.
Charles is survived by his beloved wife Sandra Sue Ballard Sams of 62 years and 9 months, two sisters; Kay Miller & husband Bill Miller of Texas; Rhonda Denney & husband Bruce Denney of Texas. And beloved aunt Frances Bell (known as Auntie Bell). His four children; Debbie Robles & husband Ed Robles of Ohio, Tim Atkinson, Michele Adams & husband Curtis Adams of Texas, and Steve Sams of Texas.
He had four grandchildren Brian Robles of Florida, Sarah Robles of California, Cody Adams of Texas and Caitlynn Adams of Texas. Charles is also survived by his best friend John Swope and his nephews and niece, Bobby Miller of New Mexico, Paul Miller & wife Lara Miller of Texas, Tina Denson & husband David Denson and numerous great nephews and nieces.
