Mr. Charles Richard Lind Jr.'s Obituary
Charles Richard Lind, Jr. was called home on Wednesday, August 15, 2018 in Houston, Texas. He was born on August 14, 1972 in Dallas, Texas to Charles Richard Lind, Sr. and Martha Collins Lind.
Charles graduated from Bryan High School in 1990. He worked at Texas A&M University while pursuing his associate’s degree from Blinn College. While working at the University he met his future wife, Erica Nicole Alvarado. He then moved to Houston where he attended the University of Houston Clear Lake and received his bachelor’s degree in environmental science. He then began his career working for the City of Houston, Drinking Water Operations.
One of Charles' greatest joys was spending time with his family, whether it was movie night at home or an out of town adventure. He loved going to the lake and fishing off the pier with his dad, sister and son. He also enjoyed camping and many other outdoor activities. Charles was a Nascar enthusiast and faithfully watched every race during the racing season. He was thrilled to have the opportunity to ride, drive, and watch a race at the Texas Motor Speedway. Charles had a long scouting career starting at age 12. He worked hard and earned his Eagle Scout rank at age 15 and later his Silver Palm. He learned many life lessons through scouting and gave back to his community by leading Cub Scout Pack 692.
Charles Richard Lind, Jr. is survived by his wife Erica Nicole Lind, two children, Nathan Riley Lind and Kayla Rose Lind; father, Charles Richard Lind, Sr. and wife Laurie Lind, mother, Martha Collins Lind; sister, April Marie Lind; in-laws Jaime and Rosalinda Alvarado; brother in-law Jaime Alvarado and fiancee Katrina; sister-in-law Christina Esquivel and husband Jason; sister-in-law Roxanne Beltran and husband Ramon; many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephew, numerous extended family members, friends, and his dogs, Beetle and Rodrick. He was deeply loved and will be dearly missed.
Charles Richard Lind, Jr. was preceded in death by grandparents, Elmer E. and Clara Nelson Lind; Arva and Katylee Palmer Collins.
Friends are welcome to join the family from 5-8 for visitation at South Park Funeral Home, 1310 N Main St, Pearland, TX 77581 on 8/19/2018.
The service will be held at South Park Funeral Home on 8/20/2018 at 2:00 pm followed by burial.
Donations can be made in Charles' name to the American Cancer Society or Boy Scouts of America.
