Mr. Charles W. Chitty's Obituary
Charles W. (Charlie) Chitty, 83, of Pearland Texas quietly entered into eternal rest on Monday, July 23, 2012. He was born April 11, 1929 in Smackover, Arkansas to Sam and Minnie Chitty. Charlie was a former United States Marine and former member of the Texas Air National Guard. He retired as a Mechanical Supervisor from Exxon Chemical in 1986. Charlie was a devote husband, father, and grandfather who loved to play golf, work in his yard, and spend time in the Texas Hill Country. He never met a stranger and will be dearly missed to all that knew and loved him. He is preceded in death by his parents Sam and Minnie Chitty, sister Beth Dickerson, and stepdaughter Debra Akmal. He is survived by his loving wife of 39 years Josie, son Sammy Chitty and wife Sandy of Crosby, Daughters Renee Leonard of Baytown, Tina Cargill and husband Ken of Jonestown, and stepdaughter Carol Stepleton of Pearland. Brother Joe Chitty and wife LaJuana of Canyon Lake, sisters Suzie Gore and husband Raleigh of Lake Jackson, and Sammie Freeman of Lake Livingston. Grandchildren Jeff Chitty and wife Gina of Orange, Kaylee Chitty of Crosby, Bryan Dickens and wife Jamie of Baytown, Karissa Contreras and fiance Eric Rodriguez of Baytown, Tessa Dubose of Austin, Jason Lantz of Leander, step-grandsons Shawn Fudge and Nicolas Akmal of Pasadena. Great-grandchildren Zackery, Matthew, Hanna, Kenton, Seth, Ireland, Cameron, Kaiyah, Chance, Henna, and Chloe.
There will be a memorial service to celebrate the life of Charlie Chitty Saturday, August 4, 2012 beginning at 3:00 pm under the direction of Southpark Funeral Home located at 1310 North Main Street (Telephone Rd.) Pearland, Texas 77581. In lieu of flowers a donation may be made in his name to the United States Marine Corps, Injured Marine Semper Fi Fund at semperfifund.org.
