Charles Adrian Arnold
Charles Adrian Arnold was born in Houston, Texas, November 13, 1935, to parents Charles Martin Arnold and Thelma Adrian Narry-Arnold. Charles was a hard worker from an early age. In grade school, he held several jobs. He worked in the local mercantile running errands, stocking shelves, cleaning and doing whatever was needed. He also worked shining shoes at the local barber shop, and he had a daily paper route. He passed on his hard work ethic to both of his boys, David, and Clint, along with many other admirable qualities.
Charles, known to his friends and loved ones as Charlie, graduated from Pasadena High School in 1954. By this time, Charlie developed an affinity for cars and motorcycles. He took pride in earning, purchasing and caring for sweet rides throughout his life.
After graduating from high school, Charlie served in the U.S. Army where he trained and served in the United States, including time stationed in Hawaii. Charlie was injured and lost some of his hearing during an accident in an Army training exercise, yet he always remained a patriotic and loyal American who would tell anyone who asked that he was proud to be an American. He loved to talk about politics and share his views on current issues as he wanted the best for his beloved country.
After serving full-time in the army, he served in the Army reserve, taking time from civilian life to serve periodically when he was needed.
During this time, Charlie became a Millwright and worked for over 40 years in the Millwright Union 2232. His attention to detail, hard work ethic and loyalty earned success and admiration from his fellow workers and friends in the Millwright industry.
No matter where Charlie was or what Charlie was doing, he stayed close to his only brother, Gerald Arnold, his best friend, and business partner. In 1971, Charlie and Gerald started their own business, Arnold Supply, a materials handling company. The family business was very successful, is still operating today, and has become an Arnold legacy.
Charlie boys, David Charles Arnold, and Clint Allan Arnold. They were a huge part of his life. He was a loving father and took every opportunity to share his life with them. He was dearly loved by his boys and by all his family and friends.
Charlie also met Maxine Shannon in the 70s and fell in love. Although Maxine and Charlie never married, she was his friend and companion and remained a constant in Charlie’s life throughout the years.
In the early 80s, Charlie discovered a love for boating the lake life. He would spend his weekends on his boat at Del Lago Marina. On the lake, he made many close friends and hosted and attended lots of fun parties. Everyone knew and loved Charlie. He was kind and always there if anyone needed anything.
Eventually, he built his dream house on Lake Conroe in Walden and retired there. He made friends with all his neighbors. They looked out for one another and enjoyed many good times together.
