CHANTOL KEO's Obituary
Mrs. Chantol Keo was born in Kompong Cham, Cambodia in1941. She was married to Simontha Teang in 1963. Mr. Teangserved in the Khmer Army at the rank of Lieutenant Colonel.He was missing in action in 1973 during combat between the Khmer Rouge (Pol Pot) and the Government. After the Khmer Rouge (Pol Pot) took over the country in 1975, Mrs. Keo and her five young children were forced to leave their home in Battambang to live and work in the remote area. Mrs. Keo, along with millions of other Cambodians, had to do hard labor with very little food to eat. Her youngest daughter died in Cambodia in 1976. After the
collapse of the Khmer Rouge (Pol Pot), Mrs. Keo escaped to a refugee camp in Thailand in 1980. Eventually Mrs. Keo found a person to sponsor her and her four children to come to Philadelphia, Pa in 1981. While she was trying to adjust to life in the US, she ran several small businesses to support her
family. Mrs. Keo was a smart businesswoman. She moved to Houston, Tx in 2007. In 2018, Mrs. Keo became ill with multiple myeloma cancer. She became a Christian in 2019 while attending Cambodian Baptist Church of Houston. She was baptized several months later. Through her strong belief, faithfulness, and trust in God, she took comfort in Him to help her through the tough time of cancer treatments. Her positive attitude in life and the love and support of her children and grandchildren gave her the
strength to continue in life. She passed away peacefully at her daughter’s home. Mrs. Keo was a very funny and witty person. Mrs. Keo was a wonderful mother and grandmother. She raised her children to be
respectful and grateful. She lived a wonderful life, and those who knew her loved her and were loved by her. She will be greatly missed by her families and many friends. She is survived by her children Tymo Teang, Tippy Teang (spouse Monic), Amy Grollitsch (spouse Walter), Tino Teang (spouse Sochanda) and her grandchildren: Jana (9), Noah (8), Augustine (25), Micah (23), Joshua (20), Emily (9), Lucas (5),
