Cesar Garza's Obituary
Cesar Garza entered the loving arms of our Lord Jesus, on October 22, 2021 at the age of 82. He was born in Monterrey, N.L., Mexico to Filiberto Garza and Lilia Garcia. He was married and is survived by his loving and dedicated wife of 58 years, Irma Mendoza. Cesar’s legacy of working hard, helping others without expecting anything in return, never giving up, and always bringing the family together, will be kept alive by his two sons, Cesar and Ricardo Garza, two daughters, Irma Lilia Hernandez and Maricela Sharp, 2 daughter in laws Maria and Liliana Garza, and 2 son in laws William Hernandez and Warren Sharp. Cesar is survived by 11 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild, and many nieces and nephews who will honor his legacy. At the age of 19, Cesar became interested in boxing so he started training hard in the evenings while maintaining a full time job during the day. Representing the City of Chicago, and weighing in at only 98 lbs, Cesar faced fighters crowding the 112 lb division weight limit. His hard work, dedication and fighting spirit won him two Golden Glove Championships. He left the boxing ring at 23 right before getting married and starting a family. Cesar’s educational career was the University of Life. From picking crops to becoming a Mastered Plumber, there was nothing Cesar could not overcome to keep moving forward. Whenever life tried to knock him down, he always bounced back. In the face of layoffs, his fighting spirit shone through. He traveled great distances to find work to provide for his family. His family always came first. Unfortunately, the symptoms related to Parkinson’s Disease caught up with him during his last days of life, but he fought till the very end. Cesar died peacefully and will be greatly missed by the family and friends he left behind. His fighting spirit and resilience will live on through his family. He will always be our Champion!
