Catalina Medina's Obituary
Catalina Medina (Doña Cata, Mamá Cata) passed away on March 24, 2023, at the age of 78. Catalina was born in Cieneguilla, Pinos, Zacatecas, Mexico. She was born on November 25, 1944 to Juan Alvarez and Maria Lara. All who knew Catalina recognize her as a humble and servant-hearted woman who was dedicated to her family. She will be remembered for her friendliness, kindness, witty sense of humor, selflessness, and resourcefulness. She was a great cook who never allowed her family or guests to leave her home hungry. She enjoyed watching soap operas and knitting in her spare time. On the weekends, she loved spending time with family and was an early thrifting trendsetter. Catalina is once again joined with the love of her life, Epifañio Medina, her husband of 60 years; her parents and brothers, Hilario, Marcos, and Andres. Those left to treasure her memory include her children, Hortencia, Javier, Consuelo, Jaqueline, Mirella, Maria, Catalina, Virginia, and Manuel. Mamá Cata was respected and loved by her 30 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. Catalina will be missed immensely by her family, friends, and neighbors.
