Carole Lohr Edwards' Obituary
It is with great sadness that Carole Lohr Edwards “Mee-Maw”, 79 years old, of League City, Texas, passed away on October 14, 2023, after a long battle with Alzheimer’s.
Carole was the daughter of Paul Best Koonce and Bernice Victoria Koonce. She was born in Houston, Texas on March 22, 1944. She graduated from Milby High School where she participated in many extra-curricular activities including Major for Milby Cadettes drill team. She continued her education at the University of Houston where she received her degree in Interior Design and was President of her sorority, Delta Gamma. Carole later earned her Masters Degree in Information Systems. She was proud to be part of the team developing and supporting the Space Station and various other projects through-out her career.
Carole enjoyed tennis, dancing, socializing and country music. She had an incredible personality full of wit, love and irreverence all wrapped into one. She was an accomplished artist in both painting and sketch. But above all else, she was a wonderful mother, grandmother, sister and friend. We will miss her immensely.
Carole is survived by her son Rick Lohr and wife Shanna Lohr; two grandchildren Davis and Ava Lohr; her brother and wife, Neil and Sandi Koonce; and nephew and niece David Koonce and Melinda Booth. All of these she loved and touched deeply. She leaves behind many friends from her years growing up and residing in the Houston area as well.
Carole will be laid to rest next to her parents at South Park Cemetery in Pearland, Texas. Please share online condolences at www.southparkfunerals.com. May she rest in peace knowing she leaves a legacy of love and great memories that will forever remain in our hearts.
