Carol Lea Farley's Obituary
Carol Farley, aged 87, of Sugar Land, Texas, passed away on December 15, 2023. She is survived by her children David and his wife Gwyn Farley, Douglas and his wife Ginny Farley, and Brenda Farley. Additionally, she is remembered by her six grandchildren: Bridgette Farley Hannah, Colleen Farley Jones, Brian Farley, G. Austin Darsey, David Darsey, and Lloyd Farley, as well as seven great-grandchildren: Andrew and Sam Hannah, Jacob and Jackson Jones, Miller Farley, Sage Darsey, and Frances Farley.
Carol was preceded in death by her husband, Harry Farley, her parents, Dicy and Lloyd Tyner, and her grandson, Jacob Farley.
Born on June 25, 1936, in Kansas City, Kansas, Carol pursued nursing school after graduating from high school. She married Harry and moved to Houston, Texas. In 1966, they settled in Pearland, Texas, where she resumed nursing school, graduating in 1969. Throughout her career, Carol served as an Intensive Care Nursing Manager with the Memorial Hermann Hospital System. She was also a certified CPR instructor and a founding member and organizer of the City of Pearland’s Volunteer Texas Emergency Medical Services (EMS).
A devoted member of the First United Methodist Church in Missouri City, Carol was a pillar of strength and faith. She was known as a wonderful daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. Throughout her life, she demonstrated a caring spirit, always ready to listen and lend a helping hand.
Please join us in celebrating her life on Thursday, December 21, at 3:00 pm at the First United Methodist Church Missouri City, located at 3900 Lexington Blvd, with a reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to the FUMC MC Armstrong Elementary School Outreach Program.
