Carmen Gloria Farias' Obituary
Carmen Gloria Farias passed away peacefully on Oct 27th, 2020.
Carmen was born in Pierdas Negras, Mexico on July 5, 1932. Her parents were Paulino Rivera and Piedad DeLeon Rivera. She was married to her late husband Raul Farias for 39 years. Carmen work for the Pearland I.S.D. for 18 years, until she retired. She loved gardening, sewing, cooking and putting together puzzles. She was a member of St. Helen’s Catholic Church since 1973. She volunteered at the church bazaar every year with the Guadalupana women’s group. She also knitted a king size comforter to donate to the church bazaar auction for many years. Carmen was also a member of the church bereavement group who provided funeral meals to families.
She is preceded in death by both her parents, Paulino and Piedad Rivera. Also, her husband Raul Farias. As well as her youngest son, Roberto Farias and her grandson, David Farias (Bubba). Her sisters, Liz Cancino, Lupe Lucas, Betty Montoya and Rosa Garcia. Brothers, Joe Rivera and Manuel Rivera. Carmen’s surviving siblings are Adella Cunningham (Dennis) and Mary Fairley (Orville).
Carmen is survived by her children, Mary Montoya (Armando), Raul Farias, Jesus Farias, David Farias, Ricardo Farias and daughter, Gloria Cardona (Fernando).
She also leaves behind 12 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.
Mother was the rock of our family. She lived a wonderful life of 88 years and she will be greatly missed by all. Rest in Peace mother. Until we meet again. Love you.
