Mr. Burgess Buddy Trank's Obituary
Burgess N. 'Buddy' Trank, 84, was born January 25, 1923 in Dallas, Texas to parents James Lemon Trank and Myrtle Emogine Curry. Burgess graduated from the Merchant Marine Academy as a marine engineer and served in the merchant marines during WWII in the Pacific Theater. He worked for Crown Petroleum for over 35 years, the last of several serving as head of the Safety and Fire Fighting Department. He participated annually as an instructor at the Texas A&M firefighting school. For many years he served as a volunteer firefighter with the Pasadena Fire Department. He is preceded in death by his wife, Pauline. He is survived by his sister Ouida Hull of Gridley, California; daughter, Polly Steele and husband Jim; son, Burgess Trank Jr. and wife Brenda and his granddaughter, Meridith; beloved in-laws Mary and Walter Wilcox and Auba Jacobs, and numerous nieces and nephews. Buddy was an avid hunter, master woodworker, marathoner, water skier, and sailor. He and Pauline loved to travel throughout the United States and Canada. In his later years he enjoyed working outside, especially doing yard work at his home in Seabrook and his bay house in San Leon.
